A ray of hope returns to the solar industry this week. Things have turned around for China: following the clash of the titans last week, this week saw six Chinese companies dominate a list of top global solar manufacturers. It's taken almost six months, but the UK solar industry has finally won its court battle against its government maintaining the higher rate for its feed-in tariff. Cell efficiency of 21% has been gained on an IBC monocrystalline silicon cell, but the bad news is that Solarbuzz has reported a 50% drop in polysilicon and wafer prices last year -- it's expected to continue falling in 2012. Finally, the Italian government continues to cut its solar industry budget. Companies: ISC Konstanz, Silfab SpA, Solarbuzz
