    Solar Rainbow Services will be installing a 1MW solar PV system at Omni Holdings’ South Plainfield, New Jersey facility. The first phase includes a 330kW system on 40,000 square feet of roof space.

    United States Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton recently commemorated the new 1.4MW solar system that was installed on the base. The ground-mounted installation features 6,300 KD235 Kyocera solar modules and is said to be one of the largest in San Diego County.

    Energy Smart is building a 100kWp pilot plant in Kurenurme, Estonia. Foundations for the system’s 11 tracker towers were laid last week and, when completed, they will each hold 42 solar panels.

    Solon Corporation has won a contract to build a 15MW solar power plant for Pacific Gas & Electric Company (PG&E) in Fresno, California. Construction on the 160-acre site will begin this April and is expected to be completed by October.

    Frankenberg, Germany

    China’s ET Solar has connected its 2.9MW ground-mounted PV power plant in Frankenberg to the German power grid. Work on the 6.5-hectare site, which was built for Wattner, was completed in December and it will generate around 2.6 million kWh of electricity per annum.

    Switzerland’s meeco Group will install an off-grid PV system on a cattle ranch in Paraguay. The 4kW system will help to offset increasing diesel prices in South America by generating 6,000 kWh of electricity a year for the Región Occidental-based ranch.
