Photovoltaics International Lite, Volume 03 - 2011

Distributed at Intersolar Europe (6-10 June 2011) and Intersolar North America (12-14 July 2011), this is our biggest-ever edition of the Lite publication. At a whopping 72 pages, this Lite is full of our regular features, as well as technical papers from TU Delft & ECN, IMS Research, Fraunhofer IPA and a CPV focus by Tom Cheyney.

Real excited about liinvg off grid on 3 acres in Hawaii. Am just starting to design and build my solar system. Soaking up everything I can read about PV systems. I have found your solar panels to be about the most cost efficient on the internet, ( although I have not ordered any yet). My question is my AC load is 2460 watts a day. Will I have enough energy with a 2800 watt system? I was told that if I got 4 185 watt panels +/- 5% (175 watts x 4 panels= 700 x a minimum of 4.5 hours of full sun per day. (Its more like 5.5 hours full sun a day but I wish to err on the conservative side. Should I go with 12 Volt or 24 volt system? If 24 why would it make a difference?
