The ECN (Energy Research Centre of The Netherlands)
has announced its plans to establish a Solar Academy in conjunction
with its partners to provide professional training to employees in the
solar manufacturing industry. ECN’s partners in the venture are
Solland Solar Energy, Limburg Development Co/LIOF and The Institute of
Semiconductor Electronics (RWTH Aachen University).
Training courses will be supplied to employees of the
silicon photovoltaics industry on a state-of-the-art pilot production
line. The Academy will be located at the Avantis crossborder Research
& Business Park at Heerlen/Aachen and aims to be ready for its
first recruits in 1Q09.
