Solar cells use old material in new way - 06 October 2008
California-based BioSolar Inc. has partnered with Rowland Technologies Inc. to produce photovoltaic solar cells, the company announced Monday.
Rowland Technolgies Inc., of Research Parkway makes polycarbonate film, acrylic film, and pohtovotaic glazing film and more. It will team up with BioSolar to produce the company's flaship BioBacksheet solar cell component.
The cells will be made from bio-based materials from renewable plant sources designed to reduce the cost of photovoltaic solar cells.
