Conergy has said that its initial ramp of its new €250 million
integrated solar cell fab in Frankfurt (Oder), Germany, now has
approximately 90 percent of the production tools installed and is
qualified for production.
The plan includes limited production in the current quarter due to material supply bottlenecks, but silicon supplier MEMC is expected to start greater levels of supply starting in July, 2008 and to meet the growing production requirements of partial capacity utilization in 2008, the company said.
MEMC is also expected to supply sufficient silicon quantities for Conergy to reach full solar cell module capacity of 250MW from the second half of 2009.
