Israel currently has no photovoltaic cell manufacturing capacity, and most products are imported from Germany or Japan. Israel Corp. recently announced that it will participate, through IC Green, in the tender for the construction and operation of the solar power plant at Ashelim in the Negev. Semia said that the company was considering entering the financing field and setting up joint photovoltaic power plants, mostly for the business sector.
