Komax Group said that 2007 sales increased by approximately 10 percent, reaching CHF
350 million. Asia growth was put at 70 percent, while European revenues
grew by 1 percent. Order intake rose by 19 percent from CHF 328 million
in 2006 to CHF 389 million in 2007.
Komax highlighted that orders from the photovoltaic sector more than
doubled in 2007 compared to 2006, which was due to its technological
leadership and further expansion of its product range, according to the
company. Komax said its PV sector book-to-bill ratio was in excess of
1.7 for 2007.
Specifically, Komax was claimed to gain additional
market share in the tabbing and stringing sector with its XCell machine
system, which benefited from PV manufacturers’ large-scale expansion
projects. Sales in the sector are expected to grow strongly again in
2008, the company said.
