Just 20 employees are left here at what is now known as DayStar Applications Center.
DayStar Technologies Inc., once one of the rising stars in the Capital Region's growing renewable-energy sector, at one time employed about 60 people at its headquarters in Halfmoon.
Former Gov. George Pataki helped lure DayStar here in 2004 from Grass Valley, Calif., with the promise of $11.4 million in tax breaks and research contracts. The goal was to turn the publicly traded solar-cell developer into a manufacturing powerhouse.
