Amtech Systems’ subsidiary, Tempress Systems has received an additional
$8.9 million in orders for diffusion processing systems from the solar
cell industry. The company has gained one new customer and a follow-on
order from an existing customer, both based in the Asia-Pacific market.
Amtech expects the $8.9 million in orders to ship in fiscal 2008, which
began October 1, 2007. Since October 1, 2007, Amtech said it had now
received solar orders totaling approximately $27.8 million.
“These new solar orders reflect our continued success in penetrating the Asia-Pacific market and demonstrate the continued strong momentum and interest for our products that we are generating with both current and potential new customers within the rapidly growing solar market,” said J.S. Whang, President and Chief Executive Officer of Amtech.
Tempress Systems moved to larger premises in The Netherlands to meet market demand. The new building contains about 3000m2 of production space and about 2000m2 of office space.
