LDK Solar’s CEO Mr Peng discusses the launch of the M2 wafer at Intersolar Europe

Tier 1 PV manufacturer, LDK Solar launched several new products at Intersolar Europe, 2012. PV Tech discussed the launch of its new M2 multicrystalline wafer with higher conversion efficiencies with company CEO, Light DK Peng. The CEO also reiterated the essential benefits of the fully-integrated business model, noting it was the right approach for quality control and cost reduction as well as technology innovation as seen with its M2 wafer introduction. Mr Peng also discusses the financial condition and the debts the company has, which has received significant media and financial community attention this year. Since the interview, LDK Solar announced it would drastically reduce in-house polysilicon production and focus on cost improvements before re-entering volume production.
