China-backed Cauchari complex hits one-million-panel mark after completion of second and third stages and could see Jujuy province produce 3GW of solar power within 10 years.

President Mauricio Macri confirms further expansion for China-backed Cauchari, with the initial 300MW poised to finish construction this August.

The project is at around 4,000 metres altitude.

The Argentinian province of Jujuy plans to install a solar PV project that has the potential to generate up to 1GW of power in the Susques department, according to Argentinian state news portal Telam.

The US-headquartered Inter-American Investment Corporation (IIC), part of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), will help to finance 100MW of solar projects in the Northern Argentinian province of Jujuy.

The government of Argentinian province La Rioja has signed a letter of intent with German firm Photovoltaic Park to develop three solar parks with a combined capacity of 700MW in separate parts of the province costing US$1.4 billion overall.
