China Solar Power taps ULVAC to enter thin-film solar market

ULVACNew thin-film solar enterprise, China Solar Power (Holdings) Ltd (CSP), in collaboration with Tano China Capital Management, Inc. (TCCMI), and Tano China Private Equity Fund II (TCPEF II), has signed an agreement with ULVAC, Inc. of Japan to establish two thin-film solar manufacturing lines with an annual capacity of 50MW. ULVAC will supply the turnkey lines as well as the tandem junction process technology.

“We are all very excited to have formed this strategic alliance,” said Charles E. Johnson, Co-Founder and Managing Director, China Solar Power. “We have spent the last twelve months evaluating emerging thin film solar technologies, and believe that by partnering with ULVAC, a research and development oriented design and turnkey manufacturer with impeccable credentials, we will quickly be in position to realize our goal of becoming the leading manufacturer of thin film solar modules in China.”

CSP was formed in 2007 and plans to build its first plant in Yantai, China.
