3W Power Ukraine, a subsidiary of AEG Power Solutions, has signed its first contract with the solar division of the Portuguese multinational group Martifer.
3W Power said the deal covers utility-scale photovoltaic equipment for two solar farms that will generate 5.25MW.
The sites are both located in the Vinnytsia region of Ukraine. Martifer Solar is the solar sub-holding of Martifer Group. The majority of its work is focused on project development, EPC, operations and maintenance, and distribution of PV components and systems.
It is understood that Martifer Solar has already participated in the implementation of more than 250MW of photovoltaic solar energy worldwide. However, the contract signed late last week represents the first solar plants in Ukraine for Martifer Solar.
AEG Power Solutions will provide its TKS-C containerised outdoor stations, including latest generation central inverters, transformers and medium voltage switchgear. The supply deal also covers metering and monitoring components and communications infrastructure.
Henrique Rodrigues, CEO of Martifer Solar, said: ”This is another important step in the international expansion of Martifer Solar. We are very pleased with our entry into Ukraine, where our aim is to take a leading position in this high potential market, whilst providing economic and environmental benefits to the local population.”
