Spanish renewable power firm Abengoa and South Korea’s Hyundai Engineering & Construction will collaborate to develop power projects with an emphasis on solar thermal.
The pair will look to build solar thermal and solar thermal hybrid gas plants.
No details were released on which regions they will work on but they did state they would “leverage their synergies in terms of technology and markets” suggesting they could be open to working in Asia, Europe and the US.
Soo-Hyun Jung, president and CEO, Hyundai Engineering & Construction urged work to begin straight away on projects that have already been identified as suitable. Talks on a partnership have been ongoing all year.
