Advent Solar has appointed two new executives to the company, both with previous years of experience at Intel Corporation. Fares Bagh (pictured) has joined as Vice President of Engineering and Technology. He will responsible for architecting Advent Solar’s next generation of thin film solar modules, developing manufacturing technology processes and building technical alliances, the company said.
Naresh Baliga has also joined the company as Vice President of Strategic Marketing and will be responsible for Advent Solar’s initiatives in emerging markets.
“With more than 35 years of technology industry experience, Fares and Naresh will quickly apply a wealth of expertise and market knowledge to Advent Solar,” said Peter Green, President and CEO of Advent Solar. “They will play critical roles in the business growth of our company as we commercialize our technology and expand our market presence. We’re thrilled to have them as part of our executive team as we continue to bring innovative, leading-edge solar technology to market.”
Prior to Advent Solar, Fares worked at Intel Corporation for 16 years. At Intel, he led several major designs, including the first system-on-a-chip (SoC) for Intel’s Atom processor technology. Before Intel, Fares served as an officer in the United States Marine Corps, and received a bachelor’s of science in electrical engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Baliga joins Advent Solar with 20 years of semiconductor industry experience in developing product and marketing strategies for emerging markets, including a stint at Intel Corporation. Previously, he served as the Vice president of Marketing for Inapac Technology, a startup focused on stack memory solutions. He received a master’s of business administration from the Wharton School of Business, and his undergraduate degree in electrical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi.
