AEG power Solutions entered a partnership with Electrotherm in order to advance their solar businesses in India. The two companies hope to attain 100MW during the next 36 months, kicking off with a 15MW installation at the end of the last quarter in 2010 and 30MW at the beginning of next year in the states of Gujrat and Rajastan. Additionally, in order to help expand its solar business in India, AEG will be developing a manufacturing facility for its inverters sometime in 2011.
“The Indian market for Solar is going to be one of the fastest growing and one of the biggest worldwide in the coming years and is expected to have an installed capacity of about 1500MW in next two to three years,” comments Enrique de la Cruz, VP of the solar division of AEG Power Solutions. According to the agreement signed between the two companies, Electrotherm will coordinate and execute the engineering, procurement and construction of the projects, which are to be developed by both companies. Electrotherm will also supply MV transformers and basic components that fall in the company’s range of services.
AEG will be responsible for providing engineering services, solar inverters, metering, monitoring, controlling equipment and combiner boxes.
