The Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems (ISE) and the Bureau Veritas have released a report on the efficiency grade of AEG Power Solutions’ Protect PV.250 inverter. The research, carried out according to the European Standard EN 50530, highlights that the inverter is capable of reaching an efficiency grade of 98.7%.
The companies worked together to test energy conversion efficiency at eight different power levels, nine DC voltage levels and for both thin-film and crystalline module technology. MPPT testing, performed by ISE according to the same EN 50530 standard, yielded a maximum power point (MPP) efficiency grade of 99.99%. ISE also reported that the PV.250 inverter successfully complied with EN 50530 dynamic requirements.
With DC voltage capability up to 1000V, the Protect PV.250 is specifically engineered to meet the requirements of utility-grade applications. Orders totalling 40MW were already booked at the end of the second quarter, mainly for Germany, the Czech Republic and Italy, but also for Belgium and France.
