It was recently announced that Air Liquide has wrapped up multiple turnkey gas supply contracts with solar cell manufacturers throughout Asia and Europe. These new contracts are additions to their existing partnership with the PV market in Germany and Japan. Air Liquide will spend €20 million to provide nitrogen and hydrogen from on-site generators as well as bulk mono-silane and other specialty gases. The company will not only build the systems, but also manage them in order to deliver the products to their new customers.
In Eastern China, Air Liquide will use a turnkey gas supply solution, which consists of carrier gases, specialty gases and turnkey equipment installation, for a new thin film
photovoltaic production facility with a target production of over 300MW peak.
In the Philippines, Air Liquide has signed a contract with Sunpower to expand its total gas supply and services for its recent crystalline-silicon photovoltaic 300MW peak Fab2 investment. Services will consist of carrier gases, specialty gases, on-site gas management and turnkey gas equipment.
Helio Sphera of Greece signed a contract with Air Liquide for the absolute gas supply needs of its new thin film photovoltaic manufacturing site. The production of this site will exceed 60MW peak and make it the largest facility to be constructed in the region.
The announcement of the company’s newly acquired contracts comes only days after it increased prices for industrial gas customers.
