In order to strengthen its presence in Europe, aleo solar is opening a sales office in the Aix-en-Provence, France. This move follows several megawatt deals the company has struck in the country within the last few months.
aleo will take advantage of the high FiT rate for building integrated photovoltaics in the country, utilizing it’s BIPV roof system. The company’s Kit_3000 provides for an all-in-one 3kW system.
Jakobus Smit, CEO of aleo solar said, “We have achieved a successful positioning of the ‘aleo’ brand in France during the last 14 months. Specialist dealers and installers are keen to experience aleo’s quality, service and added value.”
While France is already a key market for the company, it hopes that its sales volumes will increase further in the future. Smit continued by saying, “In 2008, installed photovoltaic capacity amounted to around 105MW. Calculations made by the European industry association EPIA predict output to multiply to as much as 4,300MW by 2013. For a country so focused on nuclear power, this marks a significant shift to renewable sources of energy.”
Beginning October 16, business in France will be managed by the new office in Aix-en-Provence.
