AMG Advanced Metallurgical Group has bought the intellectual property and manufacturing g assets for BP Solar International’s Mono2 solar casting technology. Furthermore, AMG has also secured a team of scientists and engineers with a background in silicon casting who will be able to continue the research and development with manufacturing operations at BP Solar’s Maryland facility.
Developed by BP Solar and the U.S. Department of Energy, the Mono2 technology will be incorporated into AMG’s engineering systems division, ALD SCU400plus and SCU600plus solar melting and crystallization vacuum furnaces.
