Applied Energy Technologies (AET) revealed that it will be manufacturing its Rayport solar mounting system at its Ontario, Canada facility, which will allow the company to meet Ontario’s FiT and MicroFit domestic content requirements. The company did not reveal its current or planned manufacturing capacity, or the amount of orders it has scheduled.
“The Rayport system has been incredibly successful in the US market and we're excited to offer local manufacturing to the Canadian market,” continued said Aaron Faust, vice president of business development for AET. “We have found an immediate need to produce the Rayport in Ontario for our growing Canadian customer base. Being able to offer the Rayport in Canada will allow our customers to both meet the associated FiT requirements and deploy one of the premier roof top systems in North America.”
Faust additionally advised that the expansion in Ontario was a stepping-stone for the company’s development into international markets. AET’s Canadian operation began production in April in order to provide the Canadian solar market with its Rayport racking system for commercial roof projects.
