German installer and distributor AS Solar has filed for temporary insolvency with a district court in Hannover.
The papers were filed with the court one day before Germany’s Bundestag approved the latest reforms to its EEG energy transition.
AS Solar CEO Thomas Rust warned in February this year that the reforms would lead to the “total collapse” of the German solar industry unless major changes were made.
The German parliament approved the changes on Friday 27 June.
AS Solar was not available for comment at the time of writing.
