AS Solar has built a PV system atop the Moroccan Agency for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (ADEREE) building in Rabat, Morocco, which was celebrated in an official inauguration ceremony.
The system — which was built under the Solar Roofs Programme launched by the German Energy Agency (dena) — is made up of several components including a PV pergola consisting of 60 Protect Schott ASI 100 watt modules that have been manufactured in Germany. The pergola is large enough to cover the refrigeration and air conditioning equipment located on the roof. Inverters were supplied by SMA while junction boxes were provided by Gawehn.
According to AS Solar, the project is one of the first grid-connected PV systems in Morocco.
