Belectric Australia has received planning permission for a 5MW solar power plant in Mildura, Victoria, supported by PV engineering consultancy Clean Technology Partners.
Mildura is also the location of SilexSolar’s 2MW concentrated solar PV plant, which suffered a number of setbacks until it was saved by the Australian Solar Institute which invested AUD$2 million (US$2.1 million).
“The planning permit is the first step toward implementing further solar projects in Australia,” reported the Managing Director of BELECTRIC Australia, Nir Dekel. “We thank the Mildura Council for its active cooperation and also Clean Technology Partners who have successfully engaged with the network operator for permission to connect”.
Clean Technology Partners will play a decisive role throughout the entire technical process, although full details were not disclosed.
As a consequence of the successful cooperation, Belectric has concluded a framework agreement with Clean Technology Partners for subsequent projects.
