The government of the Belgian region Wallonia is planning to reduce its PV green certificate scheme by the end of March 2013, according to local media reports.
Regional paper Le Vif said the energy minister Jean-Marc Nollet is designing a new scheme and aims to introduce a 30% reduction for the purchase price of green certificates. The details of the new programme, that has been scheduled to come into force in April 2013, have not yet been revealed.
Wallonia had 247.3 MW of installed PV capacity at the end of 2011, 238.7MW of which came from small PV systems up to 10 W in size. Belgium has three different incentive schemes for PV for its three macro-regions – Flanders, Wallonia and Bruxelles.
