BTU International has appointed Gary Cai as the new product manager for its in-line diffusion equipment. Cai will be responsible for expanding this side of the business and reducing the cost-per-watt performance of BTU’s equipment.
A veteran of the semiconductor industry, Cai arrives at BTU from Axcelis Technologies, where in his most recent role he worked as principal applications scientist for ion implant and rapid thermal processing. He has also been engineering manager at NA Polysilicon Technology, where he helped design a 1500-tonne polysilicon factory, and holds an MSc and BSc in mechanical engineering from Oklahoma State University and the Southeastern University in Nanjing, respectively.
“We have over 2GW of in-line diffusion equipment installed, making BTU the clear market leader,” said BTU’s vice president of marketing, Jan Paul van Maaren. “With Gary’s help, we are confident that we can strengthen and grow our in-line diffusion business.”
