Iliotec Solar GmbH and Iliotec Solar International have signed PV module contracts with Canadian Solar that equate to 28MW through 2009 with an option for a further 20MW. The module prices will only be fixed for the first 6 months, the PV manufacturer said.
“These two contracts mark the seventh and eighth annual 2009 sales contracts we have signed with our long-term and loyal European customers in the past month,” commented Shawn Qu, Chairman and CEO, Canadian Solar. “These contracts typically feature fixed prices for the first six months. The demand and pricing for Canadian Solar’s products remains strong and our order building process for 2009 is well on track.”
Canadian Solar said that customers have noted that solar project financing was still available, despite the credit crunch now impacting Europe and the U.S. The company also expects the U.S. market to be strong in 2009 after the renewal of ITC incentives.
