Module manufacturer Canadian Solar has announced two module supply agreements totalling 34.3MW in Turkey and in China.
The China deal is for 32MW of modules for a solar plant project, while the supply of 2.3MW to a solar plant project in Turkey, although small in comparison to the Chinese deal, is considered by the company to be a ‘milestone’ relative to amount of capacity installed in the country to date.
Since 1996, between around 6MW and 7MW capacity of PV has been installed in Turkey. A consortium formed by a cotton yarn company and a steel cable company in Kayseri Organized Industry Area in Kayseri, Turkey, will take receipt of Canadian Solar 60 cell CS6P250P modules. The power output of the modules is 250Wp. Canadian Solar was previously involved in the first grid connected solar project in Turkey.
The deal in China will provide China Perfect Machinery Industry Corp with 32MW of Canadian Solar’s CS6X-P modules, with a power output of between 295Wp and 300Wp. The modules are fitted with 72 polycrystalline cells. China Perfect Industrial Machinery is headquartered in Shanghai and has interests in fields including domestic and international trade, real estate development and project contracting.
Both module supply orders will be delivered with a 10-year material warranty and a 25-year linear power output performance guarantee, backed by third-party insurance. Canadian Solar is among the Chinese module suppliers which issued upward shipment and margin guidance for the third quarter of 2013.
