Dongyang Creditech Co. Ltd. from South Korea has placed an order for aturnkey photovoltaic module assembly line with Spire Corporation. Spirewill provide Dongyang with a semi-automated crystalline cell modulemanufacturing line capable of producing up to 12MW. Dongyang will alsouse Spire’s process technology and training services to operate thefactory.

Yingli Green Energy has said it successfully started 180-micron thicksolar wafer production at the beginning of February 2008, compared to200-micron volume production as previously used. The move is expectedto reduce its polysilicon usage per watt, increasing wafer output peringot and contributing to a reduction in cost of goods sold, thecompany said.
