Solar projects in Italy using Centrosolar modules will be in line for a 10% solar subsidy increase after TÜV Rheinland confirmed the manufacturer’s facility in northern Germany met Conto Energia IV’s European production requirements.
Centrosolar’s Wismar factory was awarded ‘European production’ status in early August, confirming that 60% of the value created during the manufacturing of system components takes place within Europe. For the past 10 years, Wismar has produced crystalline modules and it is now expanding production to include a second plant, which will ramp up production capacity to 350MWp by the end of the year.
“The certification once again affirms our Europe-based manufacturing approach,” Centrosolar CEO Alexander Kirsch said. “For over ten years, we have been producing high-quality, globally competitive solar modules in Germany. If our customers in Italy also receive a financial reward for selecting quality German products, then even better.”
