Following
last week’s news of the consolidation of the centrotherm Thermal
Solutions subsidiary, centrotherm photovoltaics AG has announced that
it is to establish a new 100% subsidiary, entitled centrotherm SiTec
GmbH. The new company draws on knowledge garnered from centrotherm’s
acquisition of SolMic GmbH and from its former subsidiary centrotherm
SiQ GmbH.
This news is a further step toward the company’s group structure organization. The new subsidiary will be research and development-based, while offering a comprehensive range of products and services, including all planning, engineering, and key equipment. The company’s product portfolio will, according to the company, be expanded in the future to include crystallization and wafering.
Heading up the management board of the new company is Dr. Albrecht Mozer, a semiconductor manufacturing specialist with over 26 years of experience.
Dr. Mozer remarked: “As centrotherm SiTec, we are optimally positioned to promptly integrate our customers’ requirements, and to implement our bundled know-how for the development of new solar silicon manufacturing process techniques.”
In addition to Dr. Mozer, the management team will comprise:
Dr. Frank Stubhan, who takes responsibility for the business’s operations,
Michael Harro Liese, who will be managing marketing and sales,
Holger Hilsenitz, who takes on responsibility for the company’s finances.
“The founding of centrotherm SiTec allows us to create a clear profile for the solar silicon area within the centrotherm Group, and enables us to exploit synergies more efficiently,” said Robert Hartung, CEO, centrotherm photovoltaics AG. “With this new management we have a dynamic team of experts on board that will play a critical role in helping to structure the expansion of the silicon area as an important component of the solar value-creation chain.”
