A 44,000 square metre exhibition district in the centre of the manufacturing heartland of northern and central Italy will profit from a Conergy installation.
Commissioned by the Italian trade fair company Fiere di Parma, the rooftops of three halls of the Parma Exhibition Centre will incorporate a 5MW solar plant. This will be Conergy’s second large-scale project for the exhibition centre and one of Italy’s largest rooftop industrial plants.
“Our first Conergy plant has already far exceeded our expectations,” says Franco Boni, President of the Parma Exhibition Centre. “The new plant is part of our comprehensive modernisation program for the halls and at the same time an ecological showcase in exhibition construction of which we are very proud.”
Around 22,000 Conergy PowerPlus modules will generate approximately 5,500MW of power per year, generating more energy than the exhibition centre itself will consume. This summer, the modules passed the TÜV ammonia resistance test and were used for a variety of other projects, including the construction of the UK’s largest solar park in Nottinghamshire.
Furthermore, 16 Conergy IPG C central inverters will feed the excess solar energy into the local power grid.
“We are pleased that the Parma Exhibition Centre and the financing bank Cariparma Crédit Agricole continue to put their faith in us,” said Giuseppe Sofia, VP the Conergy Group and president of Conergy Italia, the Italian branch based in Vicenza in the north of Italy.
