Wafer production equipment from Conergy’s integrated module manufacturing plant in Frankfurt (Oder), Germany is being sold in an online auction.
Conergy stopped producing ingot/wafers at the plant when massive industry overcapacity in the wafer sector caused prices to crash. Conergy’s plant was one of the most advanced and highly automated integrated module manufacturing facilities in Europe.
Included in the online auction are 24 Meyer Berger wire saw tools as well as four Rena-made wafer cleaning systems.
The closing date for the auction is December 20, 2013 and is being undertaken by Troostwijk.
Recently, China-based Astronergy said it was near to closing a deal to acquire the Conergy plant. The company would be left with a state-of-the-art cell and module assembly line if it finalises the deal with Conergy.
