CRS Reprocessing Services advised that it had completed slurry reprocessing services for Dahai New Energy Development’s Dongying City, Shandong Province, China site. The long-term agreement between the two companies sees CRS reprocess the slurry used in the manufacturing of Dahai’s silicon wafers. The initial agreement was signed in November 2010 and, with the completion of the reprocessing services nine months later, now sees CRS reprocessing over 210,000 metric tons of slurry annually on a worldwide-basis.
“In just a short period of time, our working partnership with the Dahai team has proven to be extraordinarily successful,” said CRS Chief Executive Officer Scott Massie. “Our expertise in slurry reprocessing for the wafer manufacturing industry was important to Dahai. And because CRS specializes in creating fully customized, modular reprocessing infrastructures that deliver optimal quality and consistency, Dahai saw us as an ideal partner for a greenfield project like this. We successfully met Dahai’s specifications for their reprocessed slurry, and this demonstration of our capabilities is leading to additional success. Other companies involved in China’s solar industry are showing acceptance of our model and our high-quality results,” Massie concluded. Recently, two of China’s top five wafer manufacturers signed agreements for pilot testing of CRS’ proprietary slurry reprocessing service.
