DECK Monitoring and the US Department of Energy’s National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) have teamed up for NREL’s PV Data Acquisition (PVDAQ) project. The PVDAQ project intends to record and analyze the performance of various US-based solar PV projects. Data collected is made available to the public through NREL’s online database.
“By providing accurate PV performance data to NREL for inclusion in the PVDAQ database, partners such as DECK Monitoring are improving our understanding of PV field performance,” NREL Senior Reliability Engineer Ryan Smith said. “NREL is committed to providing the public with PV performance information to help improve confidence in solar electricity generation while identifying issues that may remain.”
DECK Monitoring will contribute the data it has collected from PV sites around the country to NREL, at the customer’s discretion, so that the information can be added to the database. The NREL encourages that operators of any US PV project provide data to the PVDAQ project.
