German solar tracking company DEGERenergie has set its sights on the U.S. market as it plans to establish a U.S.-based subsidiary by the end of the first quarter of 2010. The production facility will be located in either Arizona or California, while the subsidiary will oversee the sales, warehousing, customer support and quality assurance. DEGERenergie currently runs two warehouse operations in North America, one in California and the other in Ontario, Canada.
Commenting on the news, Artur Deger, founder and CEO of DEGERenergie, said, “Currently, we see North America as the fastest growing solar energy market. Last year we already sold several dozen of our systems in the USA. Especially the United States has made a clear change of direction in terms of renewable energies and environmental protection since the change of government. I am sure that the US market offers great opportunities for our high-quality products.”
Several of the company’s single-axis low-cost models are already certified for sale in the U.S. market as well as being certified in accordance with CANADA Standard CSA 22.2 No. 61010-1 and USA Standard UL 61010-1. The company expects certification for the rest of its product range, including its dual-axis systems, to be completed in September 2009.
