Dynamic Engineering, Inc., a polysilicon technology and engineering firm, has appointed Dr. Kuyen Li to assist in the development and optimization of manufacturing processes for chlorosilanes and silanes at their Houston office. Dr. Li has served as a consultant for Dynamic since 2007.
“Dr. Li brings with him over 30 years’ experience in silanes and will play an important role in assisting us in our process design for silane and chlorosilane systems,” stated Vice President of Technology, Jon Bill.
Dr. Li has taught at Lamar University since 1978 and will continue to do so. From 1978 to 1986, Dr. Li worked on a JPL project with Dr. Carl Yaws, in which he conducted a feasibility study on production of low cost silicon. He has served as a technology specialist in the evaluation of silicon production processes as well as a consultant for DuPont, Bayer, BASF, Total, AlliedSignal, Lyondell Equistar, Huntsman, MEMC, Air Products, and NAPT-Shunda Polysilicon. Dr. Li has also served as an environmental consultant to the United Nations Development Programs (UNDP) and has produced upwards of 80 publications.
Dr. Li received a B.Sc. degree and a Master’s degree in chemical engineering from NCKU in Taiwan. He received his Ph.D. in chemical engineering with a minor in chemistry from Mississippi State University in 1977.
