Crystalline silicon solar cell manufacturer E-Ton Solar is said to have revised its production capacity for 2010, according to a Digitimes report. The Taiwan-based company will expand its output by 180MW to 500MW as a result of a hike in product shipments for 2009.
E-Ton’s president Allen Guo was said to have revised the projection upwards as a result of an increase in orders, with estimated shipments of 225MW in 2009 and over 300MW in 2010.
The company is planning to issue NT$1 billion (US$31.0 million) worth of 5-year unsecured domestic convertible bonds to back the capacity expansion at an annual interest rate of 1-2%. E-Ton will also issue 25-30 million new shares to generate additional funding.
