Taiwan-based solar cell producer E-Ton Solar Tech has reported record sales in July, topping its previous recent record set in May, 2014.
E-Ton Solar reported July sales of NT$472.3 million (US$14.38 million), up from US$12.6 million in the previous month and sets a new monthly sales record, surpassing May 2014 sales of approximately, US$14.09 million.
However, sales remain significantly down from the prior year period. Sales have proved highly erratic in 2015, comparable with larger Taiwanese solar cell manufacturing rivals.
The company had said earlier in the year that it was migrating a further 60MW of monocrystalline solar cell production to PERC (passivated emitter rear contant) technology to bring capacity up to 120MW by the end of 2015.
The company is now planning to expand the capacity of high-efficiency PERC cell from 60MW to 120MW by the end of 2015. E-Ton Solar claimed the average conversion efficiency for its latest 6″ mono cells using PERC could reach 20.2%, while the best efficiencies in mass production had reached 20.6% in volume production.
