Taiwan-based solar cell manufacturer E-Ton Solar Tech sales almost dropped 50% in February.
E-Ton reported February 2015 revenue of only NT$219.3 million (US$6.96 million), compared to US$11.3 million in the previous month and down 47.8% year-on-year.
After a recovery in solar cell sales in the fourth quarter of 2014, E-Ton announced in January, 2015 it was expanding production to include 6″ mono PERC cells.
The company said it was planning to expand the capacity of high-efficiency PERC cells from 60MW to 120MW by the end of 2015.
The ‘ExcelTon’ – ‘Cell-III’ technology was said to use 2nd generation PID-free technology with a rear-side passivation technology. Cell efficiencies were said to be around 20.2% level with the best efficiency of 20.6% in mass production.
Most Taiwanese PV producers experienced varying degrees of revenue decline in February, primarily due to the shorter working month and Chinese New Year.
