EDF Energies Nouvelles released its solar energy review report for 2011. The company noted that the group’s installed capacity rose 54.8% in 2011 from 267.1MWp at the end of 2010, to 413.5MWp at the end of 2011. As of December 31, 2011, EDF Energies had 287.1MWp under construction, compared to the 162.6MWp it had under construction at the same time in 2010.
The company noted that most of its newly commissioned solar facilities were completed in France, which holds 55.6MWp of the its 2011 commissioned solar portfolio, followed by Canada with 11.8MWp and Spain at 10.7MWp. During 2011, EDF built and sold 110.2MWp in capacity, lifting the DSSA capacity to 199.3MWp. The company’s capacity under construction for its own account and for third parties was 287.1MWp, with most of the projects, once again, primarily located in France, followed by the US, Greece, Spain and Italy. A majority of these solar sites are set to enter service this year.
