With the 25th European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition just around the corner, we at PV-Tech thought it might be helpful for those of you who may be dashing to the event at the last minute to have a quick run-down of what booths we think will be of particular interest. Of course, your wanderings around the three-level halls will probably be more fruitful, but we thought a few recommendations would be helpful as you navigate your way around the Feria Valencia!

We will be issuing daily news blasts (text-only, so smartphones will be compatible!) every day throughout the exhibition. This will keep you up to date on the latest news from the show.

Don’t have access to a smartphone? Drop by our booth where you can see all of our news being produced live and shown on our big screen! Our booth is at Level 2, in Hall 3, booth D1.

Global Solar: L3/H3/A6

Global Solar will be launching its new flexible solar roofing module – this is sure to be an interesting one, as the news story drew huge traffic when our North American editor Tom Cheyney covered its release.

DEK Solar: L2/H4/B14

DEK will be officially launching its new Eclipse metallization platform, said to be fully modular and scalable.

Balver Zinn: L2/H4/A51a

The Balver Zinn Group will be displaying its range of alloyed solder anodes, special cored and solid wires. Bound to be an electrifying experience!

Essemsolar: L3/H4/A6

Essemtec’s new Traqu is sure to draw a few interested parties. The company is exhibiting its new 3D measurement system, which uses a tomographic infrared probe to create digital 3D models within a nanometer of accuracy.

LayTec: L2/H2/A51

LayTec will present more information about SolR, its in-line film thickness monitoring systems. The company will also be performing demonstrations of its new haze measurement equipment, and will be (rather helpfully!) handing out all data on USB sticks.

Varian Semiconductor: L3/H4/C8

Varian Semiconductor will be unfurling its new product, the Solion Blue Implant Process, at the vTech Technical Seminar. The process is said to improve cell efficiency by increasing the blue-light response of the solar cell. The vTech event, which is being held at a venue near the Feria Valencia Exhibition Center on Tuesday, September 7th, will be the first time this technology has been showcased in the industry.

Indium Corporation: L2/H4/A11

Indium will be showcasing its newly developed copper-gallium (Cu/Ga) rotary sputtering target at the show, which are produced as a monolithic material during the company’s  hybrid consolidation process.

Renusol: L3/H2/A51

With BIPV fast becoming a major player in the PV realm, Renusol has introduced its IntraSole CL, a forward-looking mounting system that is currently finding popularity in France. The system is said to be applicable to fully-integrated BIPV installation of laminates and thin-film modules.

Veeco’s Solar Technical Seminar: Nivel Mall, Joaquin Rodrigo Area, Room # 1

This one is sure to draw the crowds, given the huge uptake of thin-film technology of late. Veeco will, during the three-hour presentation on Monday September 6th from 1pm-4pm, present its range of process equipment solutions for CIGS thin-film solar manufacturing. With a host of industry experts, the seminar will discuss the advantages of CIGS over other thin-film processes.

EPIA’s 7th European PV Industry Summit

“Towards PV competitiveness” is the title of EPIA’s 7th Industry Summit presentation, taking place on Monday from 2pm to 6.30pm in Auditorium 3a. With topics such as sustaining market development and technology leadership in Europe, this is a must-attend event. EPIA will also be celebrating its 25th Anniversary – happy birthday EPIA!!

The solar tracker market continues to mature at breakneck speed, with designs and component selections becoming ever-more complex in the pursuit of better project economics. But a more simplistic design could deliver a triple benefit of lower Capex, EPC and Opex costs. This webinar will set out the ideal single axis tracker design for utility-scale solar farms. The design leapfrogs from decades of experience, with a comprehensive understanding and attention to the three cost structures of Capex, EPC and Opx. Sun and Steel Solar has prototyped a single axis tracker designed to deliver up to US$0.03/W in real savings compared to existing single axis trackers on the market. That’s US$30 million for every gigawatt deployed.
