Billed as the largest solar power plant (6MW) so far constructed in Italy, utility provider Enel has said that its plant in Montalto di Castro, Viterbo has just been completed. The majority of modules for the project were supplied by Sharp.
The Montalto di Castro photovoltaic plant covers nearly 10 hectares and is able to generate over 7 million kWh per year. Enel’s had previously built a 3.3 MW plant in Serre Persano, Salerno, Italy, which was the first large-scale photovoltaic plant in the country, according to the company.
