The École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) has announced that its Photovoltaics and Thin Film Electronics Laboratory is running a two-day introductory course that will provide intensive training on the world of photovoltaics. Participants will accumulate a high level understanding of photovoltaic devices, processes and market challenges during the course, which will take place at the Institut de Microtechnique IMT at EPFL in Neuchâtel in Switzerland.
Running on March 8th and 9th, the course is geared towards those whose knowledge of the PV industry is ‘lacking’. The two-day course costs CHF1,500 (€1,022) + VA. This fee covers the cost of training material and lunches.
Highlights of the course include:
- State-of-the-art information on PV and the market status
- Materials and semiconductors
- Different PV technologies
- Thin-film deposition processes
- Encapsulation and testing
- PV installation at IMT
- Lab tour.
