On the first day of the 25th EU PVSEC, SunPower announced that it will now offer the SunPower Oasis Power Plant product — the fully integrated modular solar power block — in Europe. The SunPower Oasis, which was previously only available in the U.S., scales from 1MW distributed installations to large central station power plants.
Each SunPower Oasis power block is comprised of the SunPower T0 Tracker with the company’s 425W utility solar panel, pre-manufactured system cabling, the Oasis smart inverter, the Oasis operating system and the company’s tracker monitoring and control system (TMAC) for wireless control of the power plant. The power block kits are shipped pre-assembled to the job site in order to cut installation time.
“SunPower Oasis is a ground-breaking, utility-scale solar solution that optimizes energy production, installation speed, material cost, and long-term reliability,” said Gian Maria Ferraro, vice president and general manager at SunPower Europe. “With this revolutionary new product, we have the ability to design and scale to any size power plant, supporting the shape complexities of the European sites.”
“SunPower Oasis meets the needs of utilities, investors, developers, and the local community,” said Howard Wenger, president of SunPower utility and power plants. “SunPower’s proven technology and experience is reflected in this new product which will substantially lower the cost of power plant ownership by significantly reducing balance of systems, development and operational costs.”
