US-based Thin-film module manufacturer First Solar recognised five premier suppliers with its NOVA award at its second annual Supplier Recognition Day for their work in 2012.
The company hosted nearly 160 of its top suppliers at the event held 13 November in Phoenix, Arizona, during which it presented its NOVA award for outstanding performance in 2012 to five supply companies. Recipients included advanced materials supplier Morgan Crucible, glass company Nippon Sheet Glass (NSG), global logistics company Expeditors International, thin-film deposition application provider Oryx Advanced Materials and custom cable/wire harness manufacturer Rapid Manufacturing.
First Solar said that its work with Morgan Crucible improved its critical materials processing while NSG helped it achieve an efficiency roadmap while dually reducing costs. Expeditors International was credited with assisting First Solar enter new markets and keep in compliance with local laws and regulations. Oryx was lauded for promoting cost reductions at First Solar through R&D efforts and Rapid Manufacturing was revered for providing flexibility on project support and showing its commitment to First Solar initiatives.
