Abengoa has appointed Bill Richardson, the former Governor of New Mexico, as a member of its international advisory board. Chaired by the lecturer Jose Borrel, the former President of the European Parliament, the board welcomes Richardson as its seventh member.
Richardsonhas spent the majority of his career in U.S. politics, where he held various positions including Democratic Party representative, the U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, U.S. Secretary of Energy and, most recently, Governor of New Mexico. Richardson held the latter position until January 1st 2011, shortly before joining Abengoa’s advisory board.

His extensive knowledge of the renewable energy sector and his background in public policy will provide Abengoa with significant insight and help advise our leaders on global opportunities in the clean energy sector,” said Manuel Sanchez Ortega, CEO of Abengoa.
