The French government has selected 138 PV projects totalling 30MW under the latest round of its national solar tendering programme.
The region of Languedoc-Roussillon was awarded the highest number of new installations with 749.25kW. ODYSUN 3 will install two projects of 249.75kW and SARL VIRELEC will install one project of 249.75kW.
In March, the French energy minister Delphine Batho launched a new system in March 2013, with the aim of hitting an installed capacity of 120MW per year. This will be divided into three segments of 40MW a year.
The new call for tenders covers a total volume of 120MW per year, divided into three periods of 40MW. The first period runs from 1 July to 31 October 2013. The specification now takes into account, in addition to the purchase price of electricity produced, the carbon footprint associated in the manufacture of modules.
