France’s energy regulator, CRE, has released information on projected electricity charges for 2012.
Due to the dynamic development of the PV solar sector, public services charges will see an increase of more than 60% from what it was in 2010. An estimated €4.3 billion – specifically €2.2 billion for renewables – will have to be financed by public contribution to electricity services.
The budget has been fixed at €9/MWh until June 30, 2012 and thereafter €10.50/MWh until December 31, 2012.
Electricity supplier EDF has offered €1.3 billion to cover the costs, which will then come from the public in coming years.
